A short clip from udupi, a coastal city in Karnataka India.Krishna is Worshiped fourteen times a day by the swamiji. Of course The first ten take place in the forenoon and the remaining four are the evening services. Towards the end of the day, the Swamiji enters the sanctum sanctorum for the ratri pooja. Finally! Practically every state was banning smoking in public offices and its time the guys/gals who regulate every aspect of life here are subject to this.I have never smoked and am frankly disgusted by the smells. Not that I will ever be in the US Senate (ha!) but its always nice to see a move to leading a healthy life.Pelosi bans smoking near House floor - Yahoo! N...

BBC Person of the year

Time Magazine had 'YOU' as the person of the year. How boring and utterly unimaginative. I would have loved to see Nancy Pelosi, the first woman to head the speakership of the Senate in US history. But, I don't want to get too political here - my rantings shall remain off the blog pages. One of the first posts I put up on this blog was about Sir Richard Dawkins. Now, BBC has named him the Person of the Year.Dawkins talks with Bill Moyers (needs Real Player) about religion in America, evolution and its detractors and science as the best prism through which to understand the mysteries of the unive...

I remember days whe I used to travel 22 hrs by Train from Chennai to Delhi. But I could not believe my eyes when I read this story! What should have been a two-and-a-half-hour flight from Chennai to Delhi turned into a 22-hour ordeal for passengers of an Air Deccan flight, thanks to a combination of ‘‘operational reasons’’ and the dreaded Delhi fog. powered by performancing fire...
A Birthday/New Year Gift to myself!

Over the holidays, I used a point and shoot digital camera that worked very well. Espeially because I could stick it in my pocket, carry my son if needed and go through security @ airports. A few days before we were to leave Singapore, my 5 year old wanted to take pictures of fish in a hotel lobby and dropped the camera. Not surprisingly, the lens got jammed and I was quite upset.I’ve been wanting to buy a prosumer camera for the longest time but I didn’t want to lug all that weight around.Came back home and researched. Here Here, Here, Here and HereFell in love with the Nikon D40. The replacement for the D50, it keeps the 6.1-megapixel sensor but boasts upgrades to the viewfinder, LCD, metering, processor speed, burst rate, noise suppression,...
